A memorial service for Welsh music legend Bonnie Tyler was held at Swansea Minster on Monday, as mourners gathered to bid farewell to the singer.

Tyler’s coffin was carried into the church to the sound of two of her well-known songs, 'If I Sing You A Love Song' and 'It’s A Heartache'.

The service was conducted by Church Minister Reverend Canon Justin Davies.

Tyler, whose career was defined by 1980s power ballads such as 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' and 'Holding Out for a Hero', died aged 75 on July 8.

She had undergone emergency intestinal surgery in May while in Faro, southern Portugal, where she had a home.

Born Gaynor Hopkins in south Wales in 1951, Tyler rose to prominence in 1977.
